About ArtC

Tina Kaul is an artist and musician originally from the UK and currently based in Rye, East Sussex. She also owns and manages Red Door Alchemist Gallery.

Over the past decade she has lived in London, New York City, Sydney, Berlin and Hamburg, with many trips and shorter adventures to other parts of the world in between.
From the dazzling lights and swooningly high buildings of The Big Apple, to the extraordinary neon crabs in the Galapagos Islands, Tina finds inspiration in the diverse tapestry of culture, colour and natural splendour she has been privileged to experience. Her visual and audio creations draw together all of these elements and reflect a love of travel and a thirst for adventure.
Her visual work is characterised by a vibrant colour palette, bold, fluid designs and a proclivity towards metallics. You’ll almost always find the addition of gold paint or a flash of gold mica flakes, which have become somewhat of an ArtC trademark style.
Tina also breathes life into old furniture. She sees a table top in a similar way to a blank canvas: an enticing open opportunity for imagination and creativity to be realised. An ArtC upcycle is a unique way to bring original art into your home with a real, functional use.
Tina also writes and produces electronic music and production music. Often described as ‘incredibly cinematic’, her symphonic creations aim to both stimulate and soothe the senses.

Bespoke Services

I work with both individuals and interior designers to create custom designed paintings and furniture painted to specification.
Together we will look at the space you have in mind and find the perfect size of canvas. We will talk about colours, moods, shapes, your passions and aversions. I will show you some designs and ask you what you are drawn to most. Are you stirred by bright lights or soothed by earthy hues? Does the thought of a bustling city replenish your soul or repel you? Are you inspired by travel, nature, technology? I interpret your individual loves and penchants and translate them into a highly personalised and special artwork that is inspired by you and will in turn inspire you.
Artwork can also be specifically designed to coordinate with a particular interior theme. You may even have some leftover decorating paint, wallpaper or fabric that you would like incorporated into the design. This can create an unusual and distinctive artwork that has elements that mirror other parts of the room, thus really tying a room’s interior design together.
Make a bold statement, or have a subtle addition that blends in quietly with your interior design. Whatever you choose, you’ll end up with a totally unique and original piece of art that will be a focal part of your space.
Are you looking for an unusual or unique gift? Beautiful artworks can also be created using names or initials as an integral part of the design. See below for some examples.
This service can also be applied to furniture, upon which I hand paint beautiful, tailored designs and create three-dimensional works of art. Perhaps you have an item already that you would like revamped, or I can source this for you.

OCEAN
2015

Description
The brief was to create a fluid piece in a pastel palette to add a cheerful and light focal point in an otherwise fairly monochrome setting. A love of water and sealife was a significant element in inspiring its theme.

EMPEROR
2015

Description
Incorporating leftover wallpaper used for an accent wall in the room, I created a powerful statement piece for the master bedroom of a couple who love opulence, rich colours, decadent fabrics and metallics.

S & J
2015

Description
commissioned by a couple drawn to some of my darker, edgier, more idiosyncratic works, I was given a completely open brief and decided to create a geometric infusion with their initials as the core design element.

Mel & Seb
2015

Description
A wedding gift commission, I wanted to create something sleek and stylish that would fit anywhere. I created a simple monochrome design with gilt letterography, hidden hearts and a unified centre around their shared middle ‘e’.

Migraine

2010

Description

Commissioned in 2010, I was given a brief to
create something ‘edgy, dark and moody, using
a palette dominating in reds, browns and oranges’.

Electric Sun

2010

Description

This massive canvas was completed in summer 2010.
Pushing the boundaries on brightness and colour, I wanted
to create impact with a shock of florescents that complemented
the jagged design and screamed ‘electric’.
